links and information on zeo (myzeo)

The Zeo is a remarkable device compared to the other 'sleep' measuring gadgets that are available on the consumer market place. It appeared a couple of years ago but is based on several years research before that. The majority of devices work by measuring how much you move during the night. These gadgets are based on scientific and medical measuring devices called actigraphs. How they work is usually proprietary information, but everyone is aware that they can 'toss and turn' a lot if they are not sleeping well. Not everyone is aware that when they are dreaming most of their muscles are paralysed so there is little movement. Knowing this one can start to guess the 'stages' of sleep. The 'stages' of sleep were first defined using complex devices, polygraph(s), that measured brain waves, eye movement and muscle tone. Those devices could more accurately determine whether someone was awake or asleep and the 'stage' they were in . The actigraphs 'guessed'. The polygraphs measured. The 'Zeo' measures! The 'Zeo' measures in rather a nice way that is superior to the polygraphs - it just needs a headband. (wip)
